grandma and 2 kids narrowly escapes drowning

Grandma with Two Grandkids Trapped in Car Submerged in Flood

At Blingsting, safety is always our priority, and we are sharing this video to show the importance of preparedness in various emergencies.

In this video, a grandma and her two young grandkids, aged 4 and 7, were trapped in their car submerged in water. The flood rose so quickly that the car shut down, and they were unable to open the power windows and doors.

The grandma sat at the armrest to keep the 2 kids' faces above the water in the car, but the water inside reached a critical level, only a few inches from the car's roof. Luckily, some kindhearted people saw the dire situation and moved quickly to attempt a rescue.

The first one to respond managed to grab a kitchen knife, but he was unable to pry the window open.  A second rescuer brought a hammer and, with a few forceful swings, was able to finally break the window and free all three. But it was not over yet.

The young kids were unable to swim as the water was too cold, so one of the rescuers came back with a plastic pail large enough to fit the kids, and finally, the ordeal was over, thanks to these kindhearted men who quickly acted to rescue the family.

It is Blingsting's mission to keep everyone safe that we came up with products that are not only for self-defense but for safety as well. In situations like this, the Blingsting Escape Hammer will be a lifesaver, cutting through your seatbelt like butter and breaking glass windows with a few taps, not only during floods but anytime you need to escape from the car and every second counts, such as a burning car.

Remember that you should hit the window, NOT the windshield, because windshields are laminated to prevent them from shattering on impact.

We hope this never happens to anyone, but it pays to be prepared. Secure it onto your sun visor for quick access, not in the glove compartment and not in your bag.
