The effects of a stun gun are directly related to how long contact is made.
A short blast, or less than one second of contact, can startle the subject, cause minor muscle contractions, and have a repelling effect.Â
A medium blast, or one to four seconds of contact, can cause the subject to fall and create mental confusion. While it may deter further aggression, the subject will be able to recover and get up immediately.
A full blast, or 5 seconds or more of contact, can cause disorientation, loss of balance, falling to the ground, weakness and general confusion.Â
The sale, purchase, and use of stun guns is not regulated by the federal government, but rather by each individual state, or city. I love how bejeweled this product is! It totally does not look like a tazer or flashlight. The flashlight is actually pretty bright and good quality, The tazer works (though haven't needed to use it, thank God!). It is still small enough to put in my leggings pocket when I go for a run and is very inconspicuous in my purse. A must have for a lady looking for some self defense!
This item is extremely compact and will fit in your arm clutch and or make up bag. I like the fact that it is rechargeable so that you don’t have to worry about having batteries on hand. I will say it is important to talk to your teens about items like this as they may go through your make up bag so make sure they understand that it is a weapon and should only be used in self-defense.
Bought this for extra protection love how cute and simple it is , The voltages are really good on it!
It's super cute and will do the job. The sound alone will scare anyone. I now feel way better walking alone with this in my hand. Better than pepper spray imo! It's affordable too so just grab one for peace of mind.
The stun gun works by producing an electric shock that temporarily disrupts the normal functioning of the nervous system. When a shock is administered to the body, the recipient may feel a loss of muscle control and short-lived disorientation. Because the normal communication between the brain and muscles is disrupted, it's common to feel confused, pain, and irregular muscle contractions after the electric shock. While the effects are non-lethal and short-lived in healthy individuals, those with pre-existing health conditions may require extra care.
It's super important to familiarize yourself with the device before ever needing to use it. First, check the batteries to make sure they are at full charge. The batteries are located inside the panel on the back of the device. Next, practice your grip. Find a comfortable position where your thumb is able to reach the power switch. Switch the device on and off, test-firing the activation button. Do not touch the electrodes! Because stun guns require physical contact with the subject, it's recommended to practice the sequence of movements needed to execute in advance.
Although often used interchangeably, a stun gun and a TASERâ„¢ are two very different self-defense tools. While both use electric shock to temporarily incapacitate, a stun gun is a general term for category of devices, while TASERâ„¢ is a brand name and a specific product.
Stun guns use fixed electrodes to pass an energy current to the subject, and require the user make physical contact with the subject. Stun guns are generally small and compact. TASERsâ„¢ however, are often shaped like handguns. When activated, probes that emit electrical current are propelled out of the device, intending to pierce the skin and muscle of the subject (like in the movie The Hangover!)
A stun gun does not have to touch skin in order to be effective, although its effectiveness does decrease with additional layers of clothing. The best transfer of energy is through the skin.
